Call for papers for special issue of the Journal of Applied Social Science

Title: What is the state of applied sociology in Canada? Canadian perspectives and applications

Summary: Applied sociology is the use of sociological theory, methods, skills and research in order to address issues in real-world settings. Emily Milne (MacEwan University) and Sara Cumming (Sheridan College) are editing a special issue of the Journal of Applied Social Science (JASS) which aims to address two questions: What is the state of applied sociology in Canada? Further, is applied sociology in Canada distinct from the US or other countries?

This special issue will provide a platform to discuss, debate and showcase the distinct nature and contributions of applied sociology in Canada, and highlight the work of Canadian applied sociologists.
