Brescia University College is conducting an extensive search for an Academic Dean, to take office ideally July 2013, and invites expressions of interest, applications and nominations. Brescia is Canada’s only women’s university. Located in London on beautiful grounds next to Western University, with which it is affiliated, Brescia’s 80 faculty and 1200 full and part-time students enjoy the activity and resources of a large university and the sense of community that is found on a small campus.
Brescia offers undergraduate degree programs in arts, social sciences, management, health sciences, kinesiology, family studies, leadership, community development, and foods and
nutrition, either independently or in conjunction with Western and other affiliates, as well as a Master’s of Science degree.

Reporting directly to the Principal, the Academic Dean is the senior academic administrative officer of Brescia and is responsible for providing leadership in all academic matters. This includes the development of academic programming and the enhancement of the research and teaching mission of Brescia University College. The Academic Dean will work closely with the Principal, Registrar, faculty members, students, Western University and its other affiliated university colleges to ensure excellence in all aspects of academic planning and programming.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding academic record, strong achievements in teaching, research, scholarly activities and service, and demonstrated administrative
and management capabilities in a collegial university setting. An excellent communicator with an understanding of interdisciplinary teaching and research, program innovation
and the fostering of teaching excellence, the Academic Dean will be committed to the success of all students, faculty and staff. Through dynamic leadership and an appreciation of Brescia’s values and identity as a Catholic university college for women, the Dean will facilitate and enhance the endeavours of all of Brescia’s academic areas.
