Saint Mary’s University: tenure-track position, Assistant Professor in commence

The Department of Sociology at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2019. We seek a sociologist with a strong scholarly and teaching record, expertise in advanced quantitative methods, and who is dedicated to university service. While area of specialization is open, preference will be given to applicants who add new substantive areas of research and teaching to our program. The successful candidate must have a PhD in sociology (or be near completion) and must be committed to supporting the department’s core quantitative methods courses. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2018.

Applications must include the following: 1) a cover letter; 2) a curriculum vitae; 3) a teaching dossier (including evidence of teaching effectiveness and course evaluations); 4) one example of recent peer reviewed, scholarly writing; 5) graduate transcripts; and 6) the names and contact information for three referees.
