Assistant Professor or Lecturer (Tenure Track)


The Department of Sociology and Social Studies invites applications for a tenure track position at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor level effective 1 July 2015.


The successful candidate will share responsibility for the Department’s undergraduate and graduate courses in feminist theory, the sociology of gender, and critical and comparative family studies.  In addition she or he will contribute to the Department’s teaching in one or more of the following areas:  qualitative methodology; rural and community studies; Canadian political economy; and the sociology of work.


We seek an individual with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and research.  The successful candidate will have a PhD (or be close to completion), a record of scholarly activity, and evidence of excellence in teaching.  The Department is committed to a balanced program of teaching, scholarly activity and service to the community.
