Located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, the University of the Fraser Valley, with over 16,000 students pursuing more than 100 programs, including two master’s degrees, 15 bachelor’s degrees, majors, minors and extended minors in more than 30 subject areas, and more than a dozen trades and technology programs, is committed to teaching excellence. The Social, Cultural and Media Studies Department is seeking applicants for one full-time, eight month term appointment to teach 7 sections of Sociology courses in the 2013-14 academic year.
We are particularly interested in applicants with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory sociology, qualitative methods, family, and gender studies.
The successful candidate should be able to teach:
SOC 101 Introductory Sociology
SOC 356 Qualitative Research Methods
SOC 335 Gender Relations and Social Issues
SOC 331 Sociology of Families
Master’s degree in Sociology required; PhD preferred. Candidates must have teaching experience in a recognized post-secondary institution in the relevant subject area and be able to provide evidence of successful activities in this area.
