Sport Sociology Research Cluster: Call for Abstracts

Hello folks,

The Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) has a newly formed Sociology of Sport Research Cluster. We will be hosting a number of panels and meetings at the next CSA conference held during the Federation of the Humanities and Social Sciences Congress at Western University in London, Ontario from June 1 – 4, 2020.

I’d like to invite anyone interested in joining the research cluster to fill out the google form here and to submit an abstract to a panel. The following panels have been accepted by the CSA for the Sociology of Sport Research Cluster:

  • Tackling Inequality: Racism, Resistance, and Empowerment in Sport*
  • Issues of intersectionality in sport*
  • Physical Culture and Late(r) Life*
  • Sport and Social Inclusion in Canada*
  • Crime and Deviance in Sport: Towards a Critical Criminology*
  • Decolonizing Sport: Indigenous Hockey in Canada

*Open to the call for abstracts. A description of the panels can be found on the CSA Website.

Call for Abstracts:

The call of abstracts is now open and will close on January 27, 2020. Abstracts must be submitted to a session. Authors will be notified on the status of their submission via email on February 7.
