Audiovisual Technology and Equipment

AVMeeting rooms at York University are outfitted with Windows-based computers loaded with a mix of Microsoft Office versions throughout campus, but at a minimum are equipped with minimum Microsoft Office 2010.

Presenters should ensure that their files are compatible with these programs. We strongly encourage the use of these computers as they are integrated with the room’s AV system.

Those who wish to bring their own laptop, especially if it is a Mac, MUST bring their own adaptors. Video input for the in-room AV system is HDMI and cable lengths range from four to six feet in length.

A backup should always be available for presentation files. We recommend that presenters save their files on a USB key, as well as email the presentation file to themselves or make use of a cloud storage site for online retrieval.

Panel sessions will have head tables and desktop microphones. Larger sessions will include microphone for audience questions.

All of our Conference sessions will be held in-person at York University (Keele Campus) McLaughlin College-MC and Curtis Lecture Halls-CLH.
