Decolonization and Anti-Racism in Canadian Academia and Research

The federal Anti-Racism Secretariat, #MtlSansProfilage, and Montréal en Action are co-sponsoring a webinar on decolonization and anti-racism in Canadian academia, to be held on November 19th, 2020.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of systemic racism in academia and discuss strategies to counter the problem in access to education, teaching, faculty and student support, and research.

Our exciting list of panelists will share their knowledge on:

1) The impact of systemic racism on policies, practices, and the experiences of Indigenous and racialized faculty and students

2) Instructional approaches that decolonize the curriculum and pedagogy

3) Guiding principles for ensuring Indigenous sovereignty over data and research

4) System-wide reforms for undoing institutional discrimination

The four presentations will be followed by Q&A and an open discussion with the audience! To participate, please send an RSVP to the email on the flyer below. And please do not hesitate to distribute the flyer to your networks. Copies in English and French are attached.

If you have already received an invitation from the Anti-Racism Secretariat, please ignore this email!

We thank you for your consideration and hope to welcome you at the seminar.
