The Department of Sociology at MacEwan University invites applications for a full-time continuing position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2014, subject to budgetary approval. The area of specialization is open, although preference will be given to applicants who complement existing department strengths. The successful applicant must demonstrate excellence or clear promise of excellence in teaching. A commitment to research and to the supervision of undergraduate honours students is expected. Applicants must have a PhD (or solid indication of imminent completion) in Sociology or a closely related field.
The Department offers a BA and BA honours degree. In addition to the general BA, it offers specializations in Criminology and in Family, Youth and Diversity. Applicants may find more information about the department at www.macewan.ca/sociology.
