One of the largest Faculties at the University, the Faculty of Social Sciences is a dynamic and multi-faceted community of people. More than 140 regular faculty members, over 200 additional adjunct, emeritus and sessional faculty, and approximately 30 support employees serve approximately 400 graduate and 5,000 undergraduate students. The Faculty offers undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees in seven different disciplines; Anthropology, Economics, Environmental Studies, Geography, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology.

Reporting to the Vice-President Academic and Provost, the new Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences will be a distinguished academic with a passion for excellence in research and teaching. Candidates will possess a doctoral degree and will have a demonstrated record of achievement in academic administration, communication, collaborative leadership and a willingness to engage in robust fundraising and external relations.
