Wilfrid Laurier University: Researcher positions

Project: Visions of Policing

We’re looking to recruit several researchers to Visions of Policing, a SSHRC funded project looking at how visual technologies are changing police training and oversight. We are hoping to find a post doc fellow, two PhD research assistants, and up to two MA research assistants.

The project is studying how new visual technologies are being incorporated into police training and police oversight. The project is largely ethnographic in nature and the post doc fellow will likely be required to undertake fieldwork in Ontario and potentially elsewhere in Canada. The RAs will largely be able to work remotely, although there will be in-person meetings scheduled in Brantford early in the new year.

Closing Date: November 30, 2022

We are hoping to have our researchers in place for January 1st. More details on the roles and the project are available here:  https://specialprojects.wlu.ca/seeingjustice/were-hiring/

If you’re interested, please feel free to email me and introduce yourself: pwatson@wlu.ca

If you know of any finishing-up or recent graduates of PhD programs, or have students who might be interested, please feel free to share this ad with them.
