Call for Sessions 2016

Hello, everyone.

We hope your Fall term is off to a good start!  It seems no time at all since many of us got together at the University of Ottawa for the 2015 CSA conference – and now the Call for Sessions for the 2016 conference in Calgary has just been posted.

At the 2015 conference, our first as a fully fledged research cluster, we were able to offer sessions under the cluster umbrella.  There were five such sessions, incorporating 21 papers, and collectively they showed the wonderful diversity of topics that a “critical sociology of families, work and care” can encompass.

For the coming conference, we’d like to repeat the process, and once again invite cluster members to submit proposals for sessions to be offered through the cluster.  All we need is a title, and a short, one-paragraph description. The CSA deadline is Nov. 2, but if you’re interested in the cluster route, we ask that you get your proposals to us by Oct. 19, so we can deal with any duplication, and perhaps solicit other proposals if there are obvious gaps. It will be our responsibility to submit the cluster session proposals to the CSA, but once they’re accepted, you will be responsible as session organizers for co-ordinating your individual session from then on.  Please send your proposals to both of us (Gillian Ranson at ranson@ucalgary.ca and Bonnie Fox at bfox@chass.utoronto.ca).  We’ll look forward to hearing from you!

 Best wishes,

 Gillian and Bonnie
