2020 CSA Proposal Deadline Oct 28

The 54th Annual Conference of the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) will be held from Monday, June 1 through to Thursday, June 4, 2020 as part of the Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Congress.

The meeting will be held at Western University in London, Ontario.  Please plan to attend – The CSA anticipates the meeting will be highly attended and it will offer a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, connect with old friends and present the results of your research.

Please seriously think about submitting a session proposal on topics pertaining to the sociology of migration.  The CSA Conference theme for 2020 will be “Resisting Racism and Colonialism / Combattre le Racisme et le Colonialism, but sessions on other topics are also very welcomed.   Sessions may be held in English and/or French and take the form of regular oral, roundtables, or panels.

Submit your proposal online no later than OCTOBER 28, 2019 at 11:59pm ET. The Conference planning committee will advise you whether your proposal can be included in the programme on or about November 25, 2019.

The web-based instructions for proposal instructions are found at:

If you would like your proposal to be reviewed as part of the Sociology Migration Cluster sponsored sessions, please inform Monica Boyd, monica.boyd@utoronto.ca accompanied by a copy of your session proposal (please note all submissions must go through the CSA portal indicated in the web address above – telling Monica about your intent does NOT constitute a formal CSA submission).

As in past conferences, submitting a proposal does not require membership in the CSA. However participating on the program, which is necessary to be a chair of a session or an organizer or a presenter in the June meetings, does require the following: the person must be a member of the CSA  and must be registered through the  Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Congress website.

Again, I hope you will submit a session proposal on or before the October 28 deadline.  I hope to see all of you at the 2020 meeting.
