Student Communications Volunteers

To help the Student Concerns Subcommittee (SCS) expand our reach and develop more ongoing communication with student members of the CSA, an ad hoc communications committee was created in 2020. These amazing volunteers run the SCS Twitter account (@CSA_Students) and assist in the development of other communications strategies.

Molly-Gloria Harper (she/her)

Hi everyone! My name is Molly-Gloria Harper, a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Sociology at Western University. My research interests include social media, digital media, cyberbullying, young adults, digital self-presentation, and criminology. I am very excited to be part of this committee and look forward to sharing academic-related resources and engaging with other sociology students!

Kieran Maingot (he/they)

MPNL Candidate, Carleton University, School of Public Policy and Administration

BA in Sociology, Western University (2020)

As a member of the Ad-hoc Communications Committee, I am interested in helping expand the digital reach of the Student Concerns Subcommittee through content creation (e.g. infographics, campaigns, etc.) to ensure that initiatives are engaging and accessible for all sociology students. As one of the faces behind the Twitter (please follow us: @csa_students) I aim to share substantive examples of committing sociology and relevant social movements/actions that can help us as sociologist be both more informed and active outside of academic spaces. Also, we are always looking for material to share on Twitter and ways to engage with students, so feel free to message our Twitter page anytime with ideas, resources, and content. I am thrilled to have a chance to work with the committee and explore how we can operationalize academic knowledge-wisdom with students across Canada!
