Student Spotlight

We are excited to introduce a “Student Spotlight” project to highlight the research, applied sociology activities and community activism of graduate student CSA members.

Spotlights will be posted on the website, as well as in the newsletter, and on Twitter. Please note, submissions from Black, Indigenous and racialized graduate students will be prioritized during the Spring round of submissions; however, this opportunity is open to all CSA members at any level of graduate studies as well as recent MA/PhD graduates.

To have your efforts considered for inclusion in the Spring 2021 round of profiles, please fill out the following form by February 28th, 2021. The committee plans additional rounds of profiles later in the year.

We recognize that the ongoing pandemic has impeded students’ ability to share their work with wider academic and public audiences, and this initiative seeks to help address this challenge.

In prioritizing profiles of Black, Indigenous and racialized students, we acknowledge the historical and ongoing impacts of systemic racism in academia and the importance of committing to actions that disrupt the prevailing status quo. We also understand these actions as an effort to adhere to the CSA and Student Concerns Subcommittees’ commitment to equity.

We hope to hear from you soon!
