Guests:

Jyoti Gondek
Dr. Jyoti Gondek, first Woman to hold position of Mayor of Calgary (2021-2025)

Jyoti’s leadership is defined by collaboration and vision. She brings together leaders from across government, industry, and community to drive meaningful progress on the issues that matter most — public safety, affordability, trusted services, and economic growth. Her calm, decisive approach in difficult moments, paired with bold, visionary action positioned Calgary for long-term success.

Her story is also Calgary’s story. Like so many, Jyoti chose this city as her home. She built her career here, raised her family here, and has dedicated her professional life to making Calgary a place where people thrive. Having completed a PhD in urban sociology, and 30+ years in both the private sector and public service, Jyoti brought a unique combination of skills and experience to the role of Mayor.

Under her leadership, Calgary took important steps to move forward — from forging partnerships that attract international investment, to tackling the housing crisis with innovative conversions and zoning reform, to investing in cultural spaces and recreation facilities that improve daily life.
