Southern New Hampshire University: Conference

Southern New Hampshire University’s Social Science and Liberal Arts departments invite students, faculty, independent researchers, and scholars worldwide to join the 2025 virtual conference, “The Past, Present, and Future of the Human Environment.”
This year’s event will take place via Microsoft Teams on September 25–26, 2025. Registration is free for all presenters and attendees but is required to receive meeting links.
The conference series began in 2023 with lively conversations on nation-building and the evolution of the nation state. In 2024, we turned our attention to the movement of people—exploring migration in its many forms, motivations, and consequences. In 2025, we will examine humanity’s intricate relationship with the natural world, drawing on diverse disciplines and perspectives to explore historical legacies, current challenges, and future possibilities for people and places across the globe.
Open to participants from all fields and disciplines, the conference aims to:
- Foster a sense of belonging in the academic community by providing a platform for students and professionals to showcase their academic research and creativity, emphasizing the value of their contributions to their professional lives.
- Empower individuals to enhance their self-efficacy through collaborative interactions, both among students and professionals, and between them, promoting the exchange of diverse perspectives and expanding their social capital.
- Promote inter-cultural exchange of ideas and exposure to diverse views to stimulate critical thinking on topics with global significance, cultivating a deeper understanding of the impact on millions of people worldwide.
