Children’s experiences and voices in Palestine

This webinar featured two speakers discussing their research on the experiences, perspectives and current situations in relation to education of children and youth impacted by the war in Palestine.

Guest Speakers:

Dr. Rabab Tamish is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education - Bethlehem University (Palestine). She has been working for years as a consultant in training programs for professional educators in the field of community engagement and learning with a special focus on critical pedagogies. In the last decade, Rabab has been engaged in community research projects that aim to shed light on parent-child relationship and the value of informal education at providing opportunities for Palestinian children to learn and develop in a safe and protected environment.

Dr. Fadel Alsawayfa is an is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education - Bethlehem University (Palestine). He is the Chairperson of Early Childhood Education Department and the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Creative Pedagogies and Community Practices. He teaches courses in growth and development of the child, learning theories, play and creativity, language and thought, drama and storytelling. He uses self-reflexive methodologies like self-study, poetic inquiry, autoethnography, and narrative inquiry. He is passionate about research and teaching methods that are inspired by the arts and use creativity. His forthcoming book with Brill Sense is titled: The Road to Found Poetry: Understanding People’s Perceptions and Lived Experiences Creatively.
