Mentor Program or Black, Indigenous, and Racialized Graduate Students

In 2019, the Canadian Sociological Association’s Equity Issues and Student Concerns Subcommittees developed the BIPOC Mentorship Program to match established faculty with graduate students to provide mentorship beyond the typical support offered by academic advisors.

The program involves:

  • Monthly one-on-one meetings between mentors and mentees,
  • Community-building events for both mentors and mentees,
  • Professionalization learning seminars for mentees, and
  • Co-writing sessions for mentors and mentees.

Applications for the 2023 program is closed. Information on the 2024 program will be posted once confirmed.
