The Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia – Vancouver invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching with responsibility for teaching undergraduate courses at all levels, developing curriculum in Sociology or Family Studies and contributing to educational leadership within the Department and across UBC.
Requirements include: a Ph.D. in Sociology or Family Science; evidence of excellent teaching; demonstrated engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning; alignment with one of the department’s areas of specialization (environment and community; sex, gender and sexuality;
sociology of health; race, ethnicity and migration; family studies); demonstrated educational leadership; and experience engaging with issues of equity, diversity and Indigeneity in higher education contexts.
