University of Toronto: CLTA Sociology
The Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a one-year full-time Contractually Limited Term Appointment (CLTA) in the field of Sociology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024 and an end date of June 30, 2025. Candidates must have a PhD in Sociology by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter, or a Master’s degree in Sociology at time of application alongside extensive teaching experience in a degree granting program (3+ years minimum) is required. We seek applications from individuals with demonstrated excellence in teaching both large lecture classes and smaller, discussion-based classes in sociology. The successful applicant will have strong skills in sociological research methods and prioritize the teaching of sociology as an empirically grounded social science.
